Netherlands: Pro League-duels Oranjemannen te zien via livestream FIH

The Dutchmen are back in action this week for the first time since December of last year. In Australia, national coach Jeroen Delmée’s team will play four matches in the FIH Pro League this week: two against Spain and two against Australia. All matches can be seen via the livestream on the FIH website.

The duels with Spain are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 4 and Friday, Feb. 7. On Thursday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 9, the Olympic champion will take on host country Australia. All games will be played at the Olympic Park Hockey Centre in Sydney and begin at 7:30 a.m. Dutch time (5:30 p.m. local time).

If you don’t manage to watch the livestreams, you can always watch the summaries later in the day. These will be published on field hockey.nl, but can also be seen on the online channels of the NOS and in the daily NOS Sportjournaal.

Three debutants, return of Croon and Blok

The Dutch Team traveled in January with 25 players to Sydney where the team first held a training camp. Among them three possible debutants: goalkeeper Hidde Brink, striker Boris Aardenburg and defender Daan Bonhof. Rotterdam attacker Olivier Hortensius also belongs to the group as a newcomer, but he will not play due to injury.

Jorrit Croon will make his comeback in Sydney. The Bloemendaal midfielder has been out of action since capturing Olympic gold last summer due to an ankle injury. Rotterdam defender Justen Blok is also back, after taking a break due to personal circumstances.

The Dutch have already played four games in the FIH Pro League this season and are still waiting for their first win. Delmée’s team played two draws against Belgium (with two bonus point wins after shoot-outs) and kept one point from the two duels with Germany (1-1 and 2-3). This tie also resulted in a bonus point after winning shoot-outs.
