The HHcv, the cooperative body of clubs in the Tulip premier leagues, has a new director in Rob Almering. Almering is currently president of field hockey club Den Bosch. Almering will resign that position in the summer after seven years. The 59-year-old Brabander succeeds fellow province member Rob Kluyt, who was interim director at the Tulip big league. Kluyt will become treasurer of the HHcv.
Almering, who was previously director of soccer club FC Den Bosch, says of his appointment, “I have been active in field hockey for years and have gotten to know the club life and the context of the sport well. We play in the best league in the world. From that position, the Dutch women’s and men’s teams are among the global top three. I warmly support the shared ambition for top field hockey. I will gladly take the experience I have gained into my new role as director of the Tulip premier league.’
Diederik Chevalier, president of the Tulp Hoofdklasse, is looking forward to working with Almering: ‘We are looking forward to Rob Almering’s leadership to work with the clubs, the KNHB, our sponsor Tulp Keukens, Viaplay and Azerion, and all other partners to give substance to our ambition to further grow the Tulp Hoofdklasse.’
