The Tulp Hoofdklasse Heren has a new top scorer after nineteen rounds of play: 21-year-old Timo Boers, defender of Den Bosch. For the women, Yibbi Jansen (SCHC) tied with list leader Frédérique Matla, who has been sidelined for several weeks with a foot injury.

Yibbi Jansen utilized a penalty ball last weekend on a visit to Hurley (1-2 win), completing the catch-up to leader Matla, who has not been in action for Den Bosch since mid-March. With her goal against Hurley, Jansen continued a familiar line: she has already scored 20 times against the Owls.
Pinoké defender Imke Verstraeten scored her twelfth goal of the season against Tilburg (2-3 win), bettering the club record held by Nicci de Haas, who scored eleven times on behalf of the Steekneuzen in the 2005-2006 season. Because of the three goals in Tilburg, Pinoké now stands at 47 goals in this season, also a new club record. The previous one stood at 46 goals and dated from last season.

Tulip big league men
With three rounds of play remaining, Timo Boers is the new top scorer in the Tulip Hoofdklasse Heren. The young defender hit five goals for his team last Sunday in the home game against Hurley (8-1 win): he exploited four penalty corners – his specialty – and cashed in a penalty ball. The five-goal haul took his total to 26 goals. With it, he leaves Amsterdam attacker Boris Burkhardt (24 goals) behind for the time being.

With 26 goals this season and three regular league games to go, Boers has a great chance to improve a club record that has been in the books for 27 years. It stands in the name of former Orange international Piet-Hein Geeris, who scored 28 goals for the Bossche team in the 1997-1998 premier league season, a still unmatched achievement.

Promotion Class Ladies
League top scorer Donna Dupuis added two more goals to her total (4-2 win over Were Di), but Victoria’s striker now feels the hot breath on the neck of three Bloemendaal players. Demi Hilterman follows close behind Dupuis with eleven goals, Ankelein Baardemans is on ten goals and Rosalie Rosman (nine goals) still has a chance to win the top scorer title.

The two most prolific players in the Promotion Class Men walked further away from their rivals. List leader Noud Borsten (Push) and close follower Pim Haring (Tilburg) both scored twice last Sunday and now stand at 27 and 23 goals respectively. Of the group with five chasers, only Ties Koopmans (Voordaan) and Kenny Bain (Laren) scored.
