The Argentine women’s hockey team will play two matches in Salta against the Uruguayan team on Tuesday and next Wednesday, the Secretary of Sports for the northern province, Sergio Chibán, announced on Tuesday.
“We are going to have the chance to see Las Leonas, in two international matches with the Uruguayan team,” said the provincial official, at a conference held to announce the arrival in this northern province of the Argentine women’s hockey team.
The matches will take place on May 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m., at the Popeye Club in the capital of Salta, where the Government Cup of the Province of Salta will be played.
Along with Chibán was the president of the Salta Hockey Association, Jorge Gómez, who explained that the two teams will arrive on Monday, and that both Tuesday and Wednesday, Las Leonas and Las Cimarronas will train in the morning.
Gómez explained that the training sessions will be freely accessible to the public, for players and coaches who want to witness them.
Among the Argentines summoned by Fernando Ferrara will be Ana Luz Dodorico and Victoria Mirana from Cordoba, Valentina Raposo from Salta, as well as Guadalupe Adorno, Catalina Andrade, Sofía Cairo, Carolina Carrizo, Juana Castellaro, Celina Di Santo, Bárbara Dichiara, Agustina Gorzelany, Sol Lombardo, Victoria Manuele, Valentina Marcucci, Lourdes Pérez, Alina Piccardo, Rocío Sánchez Moccia, Lucía Sanguinetti, Micaela Sirera and Delfina Thome.
Tickets to watch the games are already on sale and can be obtained at each club affiliated with the Salta Hockey Association (ASH), at a general price of 2,500 pesos.
The Undersecretaries of Sports, Claudia Vásquez and Federico Abud also participated in the presentation; and the Secretary of Sports and Youth of the Municipality, Josefina Chávez Díaz, among others.
