Asia: OCA General Assembly moved to Bangkok in May

Back

The Olympic Council of Asia has announced that the 43rd OCA Ordinary General Assembly will take place on Saturday, May 11 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The General Assembly was originally scheduled for New Delhi, India on April 14 but the OCA changed the dates due to the Eid festival celebrations and also the forthcoming general elections in India.

The new date and venue will ensure that all 45 National Olympic Committees can attend.

The General Assembly agenda includes progress reports on four upcoming OCA games: the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi, Thailand this November, the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China in February 2025, the Asian Youth Games 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, in 2026.

There will also be a report from the Chair of the OCA Constitutional Reforms Committee and approval of the amendments to the OCA Constitution.

IOC President Thomas Bach is scheduled to address the general assembly.
