Argentina: Las Leonas beat China in the last minute of play, in their return to the Pro League

The Argentine women’s field hockey team beat China 2-1 this Friday in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the start of a new window of the FIH Pro League 2022-23.

Las Leonas won with a great performance by Majo Granatto (chosen the MVP) and goals by Delfina Thome and Valentina Raposo. The next match of the team led by Fernando Ferrara against China will be on Monday at 12 (Argentine time).

The tie was maintained in the first half of the match. It wasn’t until the third quarter when Victoria Sauze launched and Delfina Thome’s deflection opened the scoring.

At 52 minutes into the match, China made the game difficult for Las Leonas by equalizing at the hands of Xiaoxue Zhang. The duel was going to be defined in the shoot outs until, around the last minute, the Argentine national team got a penalty corner that he knew how to capitalize on.
