ARGENTINA: LAS LEONAS TAKE REVENGE ON NEW ZEALAND

With goals from Agostina Alonso, Agustina Albertario, Sofía Toccalino and Valentina Costa Biondi, the Argentine women’s field hockey team beat New Zealand 4-0 in Antwerp, Belgium, in their last appearance of the year in the FIH Pro League.

With their victory this Tuesday, Las Leonas were able to take revenge for the defeat that the Oceanicas inflicted on them in the previous match, when they lost 2-1.

Those led by Fernando Ferrara had all the effectiveness they suffered in the previous presentation on Tuesday and converted their first three goals: Alonso opened the scoring in the first quarter; Albertario and Toccalino expanded in the third and fourth, respectively. From the penalty spot, Costa Biondi sealed the rout for the Albiceleste.

The Argentine team had the participation of Julieta Jankunas and Ana Luz Dodorico from Córdoba, who entered from the substitute bench.

With this triumph, Argentina regained the top of the standings with 32 points in 10 games. With one less point and seven games played, Australia is escort.
