EHL: Campo finish with a flourish against loreto

Club de Campo finished fifth in EHL Women with a strong 6-2 win over Loreto in their RANKING MATCH, entertaining the growing crowd at the Wagener Stadium.

They led from the 22nd minute when Lucia Abajo struck from the left of the circle. Belen Iglesias finished off a flowing move down the right wing just before half-time and they were 3-0 up early in the second half via Sara Barrios’ tip-in.

Síofra O’Brien pulled one back in brilliant style, racing onto Hannah McLoughlin’s long overhead, beating the last defender and firing home on her backhand. They had earlier been denied from the penalty spot but put in a rousing second half show.

Abajo restored the three-goal advantage only for Yasmin Pratt to cut the gap once more, 4-2 with seven minutes to go.

Campo finished strong, though, with Inma Hofmeister and a diving Begoña Garcia goal finished the game with a flourish.
