The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is delighted to announce that it has signed a media rights agreement with US major free-to-air broadcaster CBS for the upcoming FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers.
Thanks to this agreement, CBS Sports will broadcast all matches of the US women’s hockey team playing in Ranchi, India (13-19 January 2024).
“We are thrilled that CBS Sports will be broadcasting the [FIH Hockey] Olympic Qualifiers, sharing the Olympic journey of the U.S. Women’s National Team,” said Simon Hoskins, USA Field Hockey’s Executive Director. “This also allows field hockey to be aired in millions of homes across the United States. Much credit to CBS Sport Billy Stone whose broadcast expertise and deep appreciation of the sport has been instrumental in putting this partnership together.”
Commenting on the agreement, FIH President Tayyab Ikram said: “On behalf of FIH, I’d like to thank wholeheartedly CBS for broadcasting the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers matches of the US women’s team! I’m sure this is coming as great news for all US hockey and sports fans as their favourite team is about to give their absolute best to seal their ticket for Paris 2024!”
