Final MO18: Den Bosch – Tilburg 6-4
The girls of Den Bosch are the best indoor hockey players in the Netherlands. In the clash in Brabant the girls managed to beat Tilburg 6-4. Carlijn Vogelaar scored four goals for her team.
The morning looked to be easy for Den Bosch. Captain Mila Pol fiddled the 1-0 with her backhand over Tilburg goalie Jenthe Kluyt. When a little later Carlijn Vogelaar pushed the 2-0 into the ropes, nothing was wrong for the teenagers from Den Bosch. But fortunately for the fans, the Brabant clash became a lot more fun. Tilburg showed muscle and not only equalized the score (through Renske van der Mark and Guusje van Belkom) but even took the lead. Kaya Coehorst tapped the 3-2 through the legs of Bossche goalie Julia Claessens.
Ten counts before halftime, there was Vogelaar again, doing what she managed to do before. Push hard. From the second penalty corner, she brought Den Bosch back on level terms: 3-3. Den Bosch could not enjoy this for long. Van der Mark made her second of the morning immediately after halftime. She was sent off on her own towards the Den Bosch circle and calmly outplayed the goalie: 3-4. Again Tilburg was ahead.
Until Vogelaar got on her hips again. And Den Bosch went to 6-4 via three penalty corners – Tilburg had not gotten one yet. Vogelaar knocked in two of them (just like before halftime) and Noor van den Broek also appeared to have a decent penalty corner. Tilburg brought goalkeeper Kluyt to the side for an extra fielder, but that was of no use anymore. Den Bosch’s corners cost Tilburg their heads.
