GERMANY: OBERMENZING AND HANNOVER CAN BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF DESPITE DEFEATS

Despite a 2:4 defeat at TuS Lichterfelde, TuS Obermenzing can no longer be relegated thanks to the simultaneous draw between Leipzig and Frankenthal. TuSLi scored his goals through Clarissa Schneider (7th/46th), Chiara Gutsche (21st) and Janne Jungskrüger (33rd). Obermenzing was only able to shorten twice through Zara Boesser (23rd) and Paulina Mayle (E, 47th), but was able to breathe a sigh of relief at the latest when the result from Leipzig became known.

In the relegation duel of the two teams most at risk – in addition to relegated Mariendorfer HC – ATV Leipzig was unable to bring a 2-0 lead over the finish line in the home game against TG Frankenthal, which Emma Lienesch and Nadja Ziane shot out. Kim Lauer and Marie Fischer turned it into a 2:2 final score. The division of points initially leaves Frankenthal two points behind Leipzig on the relegation zone, but the rest of the program sees more advantages for the TGF. The Palatinate women play at home against Feudenheim, while the ATV has to play at Zehlendorf.

First division climbers Club Raffelberg let it rip again in Hanover. At 9: 2 (5: 1), the Duisburg women apparently mainly played for their goalscorer Giulia Funkel. The plan worked, because with four goals, Funkel was back at the top of the top scorer list. In addition, Nane Dördelmann (3), Jule Bloch and Anneke Maertens scored for the CR team. Host H78, who scored through Rebecka Siebert (to 1:4) and Viktoria Biercher (to 2:5), can be happy about the premature relegation despite the highest defeat of the season due to the other results.

Blue-White Cologne can hardly be saved after their 2: 3 at Eintracht Braunschweig. Through Katrin Schawohl (2nd), the Domstadt team took the lead, but Meike Starmann with two penalty corners (12th/37th) and Maria Lagocki (35th) turned the result around. Lynn Werker’s connection (E, 50th) was not enough for Cologne. Although Cologne is still only two points behind Klipper Hamburg, who lost 0:3 at Crefelder HTC on Sunday (Alina Pasthy, Anna Küskes and Stephanie Panuschka scored the goals of the hosts), there is no waiting next Sunday as the last opponent of the season Less than promoted Raffelberg on the blue and white team, while Klipper has to compete in Braunschweig.

DSD Düsseldorf remains fourth in the table after beating Hamburger Polo Club 3-2 at home. Alina Olffermann (E, 3rd), Carina Salz (24th) and Katrin Bremer (E, 44th) scored for the DSD, Polo was able to shorten the lead through Paula Velmans (E, 29th) and Felicia Hähner (53rd), but don’t take a point. The Hamburg team will finish the league in sixth place, that’s already certain before the final day.
