Wales produced an incredible comeback to draw with world champions Germany in front of a sold out crowd with Jack Pritchard the hero of the match. The last time these two teams faced the result was a very different story with Germany taking an 8-1 victory.
Wales were 2-0 down going into the 3rd quarter but Ben Francis picked the ball and delivered it strongly for a waiting Jack Pritchard who slotted the ball away.
Germany quickly got another goal back leading 3-1 but Gareth Furlong answered that quickly with a drag flick from a penalty corner.
Momentum was building and Wales were looking so strong on the ball and then Dan Kyriakides pulled out a shot across goal to Jack Pritchard who was again in the right place at the right time and slotted it into the goal with 2 minutes left of the game. Toby Reynolds-Cotterill held his own and kept Germany from taking the lead and saw them through until full-time.
Congratulations to Jack Pritchard (pictured below) who was awarded player of the Match.

Head Coach Danny Newcombe commented ‘We are incredibly proud of that performance. We challenged ourselves to put a performance in we were proud of, play our game for 60 mins with the belief that we can get something out of the game. Defensively we were back to our best and that provided us with the opportunity to grow into the game with the ball. Our attention now moves to the game against France on Monday.
