HC Melbourne is pleased to announce a new partnership with PRL for the upcoming season of Hockey One. This exciting collaboration serves a dual purpose in supporting HC Melbourne’s Men’s and Women’s teams as a partner for Season 4 and fostering the development of Singaporean Hockey.
The partnership brings Singaporean national players Jolene Ng and Sardonna Ng, both boasting over 6 years of experience and nearly 50 caps each with the Singapore Women’s National Team, to Melbourne in August. The two athletes will train with the HC Melbourne Women’s squad, gaining valuable exposure to HC Melbourne’s high performance program, on-field sessions, and physical preparation for Season 4 of Hockey One.
Faris Ali, a coach from the ActiveSG Hockey Academy in Singapore, will also join the HC Melbourne program. This presents a fantastic opportunity for Ali to learn from HC Melbourne’s coaching staff and gain valuable insights into the tactical and technical aspects of Hockey, which he can then share with his players at ActiveSG.
“The opportunity to expose Singaporean talent to a high-performance Hockey environment in Melbourne is invaluable for our country’s best players,” said a spokesperson from PRL. “This is something we hold in high regard.”
Discussions are already underway between Hockey Victoria and PRL to expand the partnership to include HC Melbourne’s Men’s program in 2025. Additionally, exploring matches against the Singapore National Teams is a potential future development.
“I’m excited to bring this partnership to life in 2024,” said HC Melbourne CEO Andrew Skillern. “We see endless opportunities for our sport through this collaboration with Singapore and the wider region of Asia.”
