The South African Hockey Association (SAHA), the official governing body for hockey in the country, is proud to announce the opening of applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This full-time leadership role offers a unique opportunity to drive the strategic vision of South African Hockey and shape the future of the sport both locally and on the world stage.
SAHA is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary individual to lead its operations, champion its values, and guide the federation into an era of sustainable growth and international competitiveness. The successful candidate will be based at SAHA’s head office in Gauteng and will play a central role in advancing the sport across all levels — from grassroots to elite.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction for SA Hockey
- Managing operations, financial planning, and compliance
- Building stakeholder relationships with government, sponsors, clubs, and international federations
- Overseeing national team development, event execution, and high-performance systems
- Promoting and elevating the public image of South African Hockey
Ideal candidates should have proven experience in senior management, preferably in a sports federation or a related industry, alongside strong leadership, financial, and stakeholder engagement skills. A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.
