Asia: Pakistan Hockey Federation has announced the Pakistan Hockey Team to participate in the Olympic Qualifier event

Ammad Sheekil butt will lead the national hockey squad while Abubakar Mehmood will be the vice-captain.
The 18-member Pakistan hockey team was announced after the final approval of President PHF Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti on the recommendations of the National Hockey Selection Committee headed by Olympian Kaleemullah Khan. Olympian Nasir Ali, Olympian Rahim Khan and Laeeq Lashari International evaluated the performance of the athletes in the final trials.
Goalkeepers Abdullah Ishtiaq, Waqar, Arbaaz Ahmed, Muhammad Abdullah, Sufyan Khan, Imad Shakeel Butt (Captain), Abu Bakr Mahmood (Vice) are among the players of the Pakistan Hockey Team to participate in the Olympic Qualifier event to be played in Muscat, Oman from January 15 to 21. Captain), Murtaza Yaqub, Abdul Manan, Aqeel Ahmed, Moeen Shakeel, Salman Razak, Abdul Hanan Shahid, Ghazanfar Ali, Abdul Rehman Jr., Zakaria Hayat, Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf and Arshad Liaquat.
The team management includes head coach Shahnaz Sheikh, coach Shakeel Abbasi, assistant coach Olympian Dilawar Hussain, Amjad Ali goalkeeper coach, Waqas Mahmood physiotherapist and Muhammad Imran Khan physical trainer.
