Asia: Cambodia NOC President starts Olympic Day Run in Phnom Penh

Back

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, HE Minister Dr. Thong Khon, signalled the start of the Olympic Day Run on Sunday, June 23.

The event took place in the grounds of the Morodok Techo National Sports Complex on the outskirts of the capital and which was the main venue for Cambodia’s debut hosting of the SEA Games in 2023.

The NOCC President encouraged all the students to find the one sport they love and to keep it in their life, in keeping with the Olympic Day theme “Let’s Move”. By doing this, the students would lead a healthy lifestyle and be able to contribute to the economic and social development of the country, said Dr. Thong Khon.

The celebrations included a visit to the Olympic Museum to learn about the sports champions of Cambodia and the SEA Games hosting and a presentation of participation certificates by the NOCC Secretary General Vath Chamrouen and other sports officials. About 200 students took part.
