Asia: Day 4: India Shines with a Dominant 3-0 Victory Over China in the Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy

In an electrifying third match on Day 4 of the Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023, host nation India delivered an impressive 3-0 win against China. The Maulana Mazharul Haque Stadium in Patna erupted with joy as the home team displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, and resilience to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament.

India began the match with high energy, immediately putting China under pressure. The home team’s relentless attacks paid off in the first quarter when Vandana Katariya scored a stunning field goal, giving India an early lead and sending the crowd into raptures.

China tried to regroup, focusing on counterattacks, but India’s midfield, led by the ever-reliable , ensured control of the game. Before the end of the first half, India doubled their lead through a well-executed penalty corner converted by Deep Grace Ekka. The scoreline read 2-0 at halftime, with India firmly in the driver’s seat.

The second half saw China attempting to mount a comeback, but India’s defense, marshaled by goalkeeper Savita Punia, stood tall. The Indian players showcased their discipline, denying China any clear chances to breach their defense.

In the final quarter, India delivered the knockout punch scored a brilliant field goal, capping off a stellar performance by the hosts. The match ended with a convincing 3-0 scoreline, much to the delight of the home fans.
