The electrifying match, held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, showcased the best of Asian hockey and reaffirmed India’s dominance in the junior category.
First-Half Action: India Takes Early Control
The game started at a frenetic pace, with both teams displaying attacking intent. India struck early, taking advantage of a penalty corner in the 7th minute to open the scoring through their drag-flick specialist. Pakistan responded swiftly, leveling the score in the 13th minute with a well-executed field goal. However, India regained their lead just before halftime, converting another penalty corner to end the first half 2-1 in their favor.
Second-Half Drama: Pakistan Fights Back, But India Prevails
The second half saw Pakistan upping their aggression in search of an equalizer, and they succeeded in the 42nd minute with a brilliant solo effort. However, India’s forward line, known for its speed and precision, struck back almost immediately with two quick goals in the 45th and 50th minutes, putting the team in a commanding position at 4-2.
