Katie Robertson; Alan Forsyth and Struan Walker have been added to the GB Hockey programme. It makes a tremendous total of nine Scottish players in the GB senior programmes building towards the Olympics in Paris.
Katie Robertson, who has 64 international caps for the Scotland Women’s team, joins fellow Scots, Sarah Robertson; Amy Costello; Charlotte Watson; Fiona Burnet; and Jennifer Eadie on the GB Hockey women’s programme.
Alan Forsyth, who has 211 international caps, re-joins the men’s programme, alongside Struan Walker, the 21-year-old has so far featured in 23 international matches and scored a total of 16 goals for Scotland. The two Scots join Lee Morton already part of the men’s programme.
The news is great reward for the hard work and dedication of the players, and fantastic progress for Scotland.
Scotland women Head Coach, Chris Duncan, said, “It is phenomenal news to have Katie included with the GB Senior Programme. Katie has been a consistently outstanding performer for Scotland over the past two years, and set an exceptional standard in her leadership role for others to follow.
“To now have six Scottish female athletes in the centralised programme is fantastic for us as a nation, and we hope Katie, alongside all the others, continues to thrive ahead of an exciting year ahead for all attached to Great Britain Hockey.”
