Canada: Field Hockey Canada announces Pan American Cup Rosters

Canada’s Men’s and Women’s National Teams Set for Pan American Cup in Uruguay

Canada’s women’s and men’s national teams are primed for action as they head to Montevideo, Uruguay, for the 2025 Pan American Cup, running from July 24 to August 3. With continental bragging rights and automatic qualification to the 2026 FIH World Cups on the line, both teams are ready to make their mark.

Fresh off dominant performances at the Lions Cup, part of the Sikh Games Canada, both teams enter the tournament with momentum and confidence. The Lions Cup served as a perfect tune-up, offering quality match play ahead of this major international test.

On the women’s side, the Wolf Pack is looking to get into the crossover stages of the tournament and make a splash. Despite Argentina’s historic dominance, winning every edition of the Pan Am Cup, Canada has consistently challenged near the top. With a strong squad and balance of veteran leadership and youthful energy, the team is looking poised to do some damage. They’ll get a good look at the top team in the event, when they face Argentina in pool-play. They will also see Uruguay, and Paraguay before moving onto the bracket phase of the tournament.

The men’s team last won the Pan American Cup in 2009 and boast multiple silver medals as well. The Red Caribou is determined to reclaim the top spot. Drawn into Pool B alongside Chile, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago, they’ll aim to build on past podium finishes and dethrone three-time defending champions Argentina. The team only has an average of 37 international caps. Despite having a few triple digit leaders, this is a young team looking to cement their legacy on Canadian hockey and challenge for that coveted World Cup berth.

All matches will be streamed live on FIH Watch Hockey. Canadian supporters are encouraged to sign up and subscribe to catch every moment of Team Canada’s journey.
