Canada: Masters World Cup – Intent to Register

Athletes encouraged to express interest for 2026 Masters World Cup

Seven teams proudly represented Canada at the 2024 Masters World Cup in Auckland, New Zealand – four women’s teams (over 50, 55, 60 and 65) and three men’s teams (over 45, 50 and 60). It was an amazing experience, and now we hope to send even more teams to the 2026 Masters World Cup!

The 2026 Masters World Cup is scheduled for the Summer of 2026 in different locations and dates depending on age categories:

HC Rotterdam, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
22 July – 01 August 2026
Tournament 1 (O35/O40) Men and Women
Tournament 2 (O45/O50) Men and Women

KHC Dragons, Brasschaat, Belgium
6 – 16 August 2026
Tournament 3 (O55 – O70 Women; O55/O60 Men)

BHV Push Breda, Breda, The Netherlands
6 – 16 August 2026
Tournament 4 (O65- O80 Men)

INTENT TO REGISTER

If you would like to be considered for selection to play for Canada, please complete your Intent to Register by October 4, 2025.

At this early stage, your “intent” would include:

  1. attendance to a selection camp or
  2. video submission for those who are unable to attend in person.

The $200.00 registration fee will be non-refundable unless an individual has registered for an age group where there are not enough athletes to form a team.  The FHC Masters Committee will then assess and confirm, refund eligibility.

KEY DATES:

Athlete Selection – selection camps are expected to be held as follows:

  • BC, Lower Mainland – Thanksgiving weekend (Men); Oct 11th (Women) times and location TBC
  • BC, Lower Mainland – Family Day weekend (Feb 2026 Women) times and location TBC
  • BC, Lower Mainland – Easter weekend (Apr 2026 Men) times and location TBC
  • BC, Duncan (Women only) – Oct 12th times TBC
  • BC, Duncan (Women only) – Family Day weekend 2026 times TBC
  • AB, Calgary – TBC
  • ON – TBC

Training – Training events will be organized throughout the next 11 months by the age group coordinators (AGC’s), team managers and coaches on an individual age group and/or team basis.

Training events for the Women may include participation in the following:

  • The Pat Hall Master’s Tournament held on Vancouver Island over – April 3–5, 2026
  • The Vancouver International Tournament (VIT) held in Burnaby, B.C. over the Victoria Day long weekend – May 16–18, 2026

**Athletes unable to attend selection camps in person will be asked to send in video footage highlighting key selection criteria along with references from coaches.

The selection process will follow the Masters Selection Policy.

Additional training and/or athlete selection events may be organized on an individual age group and/or team basis.  Every effort will be made to include and accommodate athletes from across Canada.

FHC Masters Hockey is a fully self-funded program.  Athlete expenses include: travel costs, uniform/clothing purchase, turf rentals, tournament entrance fees, FHC administration fee, and any other program related expenses. Athletes also contribute to covering the cost of tour staff (coaches, managers, physiotherapists).

Estimated cost of participation for this event:

Flights: $1,800

Accommodations: $1,300 (double occupancy) – $2,000 (single occupancy)

Levies and uniforms: $2,500 (based on a roster of 16)

Total Estimated cost: $5,600 – $6,300

Final costs will be confirmed as teams are defined and training schedules confirmed.
