USA: USWNT Finish with Silver at Pan American Cup

A minute inside the third quarter, Argentina extended their lead to 2-0 when Eugenia Trinchinetti had a textbook deflection off the post. USA went on to produce a few good looks, but were still unable to find outcomes. Ones of these chances came in the 35th minute when Maddie Zimmer received an overhead in the circle sent up by Mia Schoenbeck, and fired a shot wide. With 2 minutes to go Reese D’Ariano ripped a shot that also earned USA a set piece. On the chance, the pass went back to inserter Ryleigh Heck, but it was well defended by Argentina’s goalkeeper.

With 29 seconds to go, Argentina sealed the win when a through ball got to Julieta Jankunas, who sent a backhand into the corner. USA fell to Las Leonas, 3-0, to finish with a silver medal.
