England: EHL Premier Division Preview | Week Two

Women’s Premier Division

The game of the day in the Women’s Premier Division is the meeting between Reading and Surbiton, a repeat of last season’s final which Reading won 1-0. Both teams started with wins last Saturday.

Newcomers Durham University will look to build on last week’s success when they host student-counterparts, University of Nottingham. 

There is another all-University match up with the University of Birmingham making the short trip to Loughborough.

Hampstead & Westminster will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s win at Bowdon when they travel to Cheshire.

Clifton Robinsons welcome East Grinstead with both teams looking to get off the mark after losses last week.

Barnes and Wimbledon meet for the first time in eight seasons.

Open/Men’s Premier Division

Champions Surbiton welcome Hampstead & Westminster for their first home game of the new season.

Both teams were in a goal scoring mood last week with Surbiton scoring seven against Oxted and Hampstead & Westminster scoring five against East Grinstead. 

This was bettered by Wimbledon, with an 8-4 defeat of Reading, and they take the M4 to Cardiff & Met. 

Old Georgians make a shorter trip to North London to play Southgate.

Reading v Oxted and Beeston v East Grinstead sees all teams looking to get points on the board after week one losses.  

Brooklands MU host Holcombe no doubt hoping for better weather after their game with Southgate fell foul of torrential rain last Saturday. That match will be replayed on Sunday October 5.
