Bloemendaal took the momentum into EHL week from the Dutch topper when they struck late to defeat SV Kampong 5-4 in the men’s Hoofdklasse.
Elian Mazkour was the hero with a rising rocket into the top corner which saw de Mussen win a rollercoaster battle in which they trailed three times.
The win moves Bloemendaal up to second place, one point off Rotterdam after five rounds of matches, building into their date with Irish side Banbridge in the EHL Men KO16 next Saturday.
For Kampong, it continues their tough start to the season which has seen them pick up just five points and sit in ninth place overall. Their next port of call is a battle with Real Club de Polo next Saturday in Barcelona.
Floris Wortelboer opened the scoring after six minutes when he scrambled in from the right baseline but a couple of goals from Duco Telgenkamp swapped the lead.
Jonas de Geus and Finn Bijnen kept the Utrecht in front going into the final seven minutes but a Teun Beins corner equalised and then Mazkour produced his magic for a cracking victory.
Elsewhere, Rotterdam lead the way after a resounding 9-0 win over Hurley while AH&BC Amsterdam, Oranje Rood and Pinoké are in a share of third place on 11 points.
Amsterdam beat Laren 9-0 while Pinoké were caught late on by Den Bosch, drawing 3-3 despite leading 3-1 win three minutes remaining. Oranje-Rood were also left frustrated as they conceded in the last minute to draw 1-1 with Klein Zwitserland.
