Braxgata are through to the ABN AMRO EHL Women’s FINAL4 as their dream debut continues, getting by the challenge of Real Club de Polo.
It was their second successive win over Spanish opposition as they came from a goal down with third quarter goals from Michelle Carey and Lyne van Dieren.
They had made most of the early running with Niamh Carey’s outstanding run turned just over the bar by Louise Versavel while Mariana Scandura made a string of good saves.
Polo, though, hit the front when Laura Bruguera clattered home a backhand shot following a series of corner rebounds.
That made it 1-0 at half-time but Brax were back level early in the second half when Sofie Scheers laid the perfect ball across for Michelle Carey to touch in.
And they were in front soon after when Sanne Caarls’ power-push located van Dieren alone at the back post, ready to sweep in for 2-1.
Polo did almost get back on terms but some outstanding corner defence in the last minute saw Brax hold on and go through to the FINAL4.
