HDM claimed their fifth Dutch indoor national title as they denied AH&BC Amsterdam 5-4 in a thrilling final at the Topsportcentrum Rotterdam.

Chris Taberima was the standout performer, scoring three goals and leading The Hague side to victory.

The match was a repeat of the 2023 final, though this time Amsterdam entered as defending champions which sees them play in two weeks in Sant Cugat in the EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup ahead of their EHL return at Easter.

Both teams had topped their regular‑season pools and impressed in the semi-finals, setting the stage for a high‑quality final.

HDM struck immediately in the opening minute as Taberima beat goalkeeper Olivier Paalman. Amsterdam responded quickly when Boris Burkhardt converted a penalty corner but HDM retook the lead through Mats Dicke.

A flurry of goals followed. Sam Steins‑Bisschop scored twice to put Amsterdam ahead before Guus van den Boezem equalised. Steins‑Bisschop then converted a penalty stroke for 4‑3, but Taberima made it 4‑4 just before half-time.

The intensity continued after the break. With HDM temporarily down to four players after a yellow card, Taberima completed his hat trick, putting his team ahead 5‑4 which proved the match’s decisive moment.

Amsterdam pushed hard in the closing minutes creating chances through Burkhardt and Johannes Mooij but could not find the equaliser. Despite late pressure and Taberima receiving a yellow card, HDM held firm to secure their fifth national indoor title.
