SCHC reached the ABN AMRO EHL Women’s FINAL4 for the first time as Yibbi Jansen’s double was enough to see them defeat Gantoise 2-1.
For the most part, the Bilthoven club held sway in terms of possession and territory but they got no easy gains from the Belgian side who defended tigerishly to keep the game live right until the end.
Jansen broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when her corner shot hit a body on the line; she duly stepped forward to flick in the resulting penalty stroke for 1-0.
Gantoise, though, were next to reply and they were level when Alix Gerniers got a lovely tip in front of Alexandra Heerbaart for parity in the 20th minute.
Jansen slammed in a corner early in the second half for 2-1 but they were never fully comfortable in the lead as Gantoise won a couple of corners of their own which were repelled.
Jansen also hit the base of the post with another low bullet, meaning it remained 2-1 with SCHC advancing to the last four of the competition.
