Shippensburg and Kutztown are both unbeaten in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Will one team be looking for her “broom” stick by the end of the season? The 4-0 PSAC squads are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. at Shippensburg today.
It’s October and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association has published its week five Division II coaches poll. At this point in the season, every team is, without doubt, trying to prevent the other from earning a sweep in their conference.
The only team in Division II ranked that has the target placed on their backs is Shippensburg.
According to the NFHCA, “The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top 10 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division II team with an NFHCA member coach is permitted one vote for the ranking each week.
Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey playing season.
The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship.”
Here are the Division II teams ranked in the week five poll. Teams that are in bold have moved either up or down.
