Den Bosch on Sunday celebrated their thousandth official match since promotion in 1990 with a 10-1 win over Huizen. In doing so, the team brushed aside last week’s defeat against Pinoké. The match set several club records and milestones.
Against Huizen, Den Bosch played their 1,000th official match since promotion to the highest level in 1990. An impressive run, made up of regular Hoofdklasse matches, playoff games, cup matches and European confrontations. After 1,000 matches, the balance stands at 750 wins, 125 draws and 125 defeats.
Record win under Dijkstra
The 10-1 monster score was also the biggest win under coach Marieke Dijkstra, who thus recorded victory number 100 in her 126th official match as head coach. It was also the first time since 10 April 2016 – when Den Bosch crushed Push 15-0 – that the team scored ten times again in a league match.
Two hat-tricks
For attackers Frédérique Matla and Teuntje de Wit, the match was extra memorable. Both scored a hat-trick. For Matla it was already her twentieth three-hit game in the Hoofdklasse – only club icons Mijntje Donners (25) and Maartje Paumen (39) scored three or more in a game more often on behalf of Den Bosch.
For De Wit, it was her very first hat-trick at the highest level, making her the nineteenth player in Den Bosch’s rich club history to join the hat-trick party.
