Rotterdam ladies did good business at the bottom of the Tulp Hoofdklasse. Coach Jorge Nolte’s team won 2-0 against bottom-placed Oranje-Rood on Saturday. Bloemendaal failed to win at home against HGC. At ‘t Kopje, the teams shared the points. It ended 1-1.
Rotterdam – Oranje-Rood 2-0
In a match between the least scoring teams of the Tulp Hoofdklasse, Rotterdam did have something to cheer about. They scored twice. Myrthe van Kesteren opened the score from a penalty corner after twelve minutes, before Brechtje van Santbrink made it 2-0 in the second quarter, also from a penalty corner. This gave Rotterdam its third victory in the last five league matches. Striker Oranje-Rood has been waiting for a win for six matches and remained without a goal in four of the last five matches.
Bloemendaal – HGC 1-1
After 20 goals in the last five encounters, the spectators at ‘t Kopje were again hoping for a spectacle. This time, however, it remained just two goals. Bloemendaal seemed to be heading for its fourth win of the season after an early goal by Ankelein Baardemans, but just before time Lilly Stoffelsma prevented a goal from a penalty corner to keep the points at ‘t Kopje. With this result, HGC played equal for the second time in a row and the team from Wassenaar has been waiting for a victory in seven away matches. Bloemendaal dropped points in four of the last five matches.
