~Hockey Haryana, Hockey Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh Hockey won in Sub Junior Men’s category matches~
New Delhi, 2nd October 2023: The second day of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women North Zone Championship 2023 in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, saw Hockey Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Hockey register wins in their respective matches in the Sub Junior Women’s category, while Hockey Haryana, Hockey Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh Hockey emerged victorious in their respective games in the Sub Junior Men’s category.
The first match of the day saw Hockey Haryana beat Hockey Punjab by 4-2 in the Sub Junior Women’s category. Hockey Haryana built a solid lead through braces from Seema (35’, 60’) and Diya (37’, 54’). Meanwhile, Kaur Gagandeep (25’) and Tanu Rani (56’) scored one goal each for Hockey Punjab.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey defeated Hockey Himachal by 14-0 in the second match of the day in the Sub Junior Women’s category. The goal scorers for Uttar Pradesh Hockey were Rashmi Patel (6’, 41’), Chauhan Shraddha (12’, 18’, 50’, 59’), Lucky Kumar (13’, 35’, 43’), and Rashmi Raikwar (21’, 29’, 33’, 55’, 56’).
In the third match, Hockey Haryana beat Hockey Punjab by 3-1 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Sachin (7’, 44’) led the goal scoring efforts by scoring a brace for Hockey Haryana, while Amit (54’) pitched in with a goal as well. The only goal for Hockey Punjab was scored by Sukhdev Singh (43’).
The fourth match saw Hockey Chandigarh defeat Hockey Uttarakhand by 12-4 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Captain Suraj Kumar Sah (10’, 16’, 24’, 42’, 57’) led by example, scoring five goals for Hockey Chandigarh. Singh Lovepreet (17’, 27’), Singh Vansh (30’, 35’), Duhan Sahi (40’), Rajveer Singh (44’), and Singh Jashanpreet (50’) also scored for Hockey Chandigarh. The goals for Hockey Uttarakhand were scored by Kunwar Manish Singh (25’, 42’) and Captain Nitin Bohra (45’, 55’).
The last match of the day ended with Uttar Pradesh Hockey beating Hockey Himachal by 18-0 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Captain Ali Shahrukh (6’, 9’, 11’, 13’, 15’, 15’, 20’, 36’, 36’, 43’) astoundingly scored ten goals for Uttar Pradesh Hockey. The rest of the goals were scored by Satyam Pandey (9’, 24’, 29’, 54’), Saroj Kishan (12’), Sujeet Rajbhar (30’), Raynee Mohd Atif (48’), and Ashvani Singh (56’).
