New Delhi, 13th August 2023: Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat, Sai Shakti, HIM Academy, Sai Bal, and Republican Sports Club won their respective Pool games on day 1 of the Khelo India Junior Women’s Hockey League (Phase- 1) on Sunday in New Delhi.
In the opening match of the day, Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat defeated Citizen Hockey XI with a convincing 11-0 in their Pool A match. Their exceptional win was secured after goals from Harshitha (3’, 12’), Diksha (5’, 18’, 40’), Khushi (7’), Manjindar (10’, 10’), Jyothi (23’, 30’), and Kirti (55’).
In the second match, Sai Shakti emerged victorious over Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy with a 15-0 win in their Pool A match. Their victory was sealed by goals from Lalrinpuii (5’), Monika Tirkey (7’, 33’, 36’), Kanika Siwach (9’, 32’, 45’), Nandini (12’), Jyothi XAXA (13’, 39’), Ritika (17’, 54’), Sukhveer Kaur (20’), Nidhi (35’), and Kiranpreet Kaur (52’).
In the following match, HIM Academy defeated Raja Karan Hockey Academy by 5-0 in their Pool A match. HIM Academy built a comfortable lead after goals from Team Captain Shubham (40’), Anshika (12’, 41’), and Anjani (20’, 59’).
In a closely contested fourth match, SAI Bal triumphed over Har Hockey Academy by scoring 3-2 in their Pool B match. Despite Har Hockey Academy’s Shashi Khasa (12’) scoring the opening goal of the match and Ishika (42’) having scored their second goal to keep them in the lead by 2-0 in the first three-quarters of the game, Sai Bal emerged victorious by scoring three consecutive goals within 5 minutes in the fourth quarter of the game. SAI Bal’s victory was backed by goals scored by Dechamma P G (50’, 54’) and Team Captain Sanjana Horo (53’).
In yet another closely contested match of the day, Republican Sports Club emerged victorious over Salute Hockey Academy by scoring 2-1 in their Pool B match. The opening goal of the match was scored by Rekha (23’) of Salute Hockey Academy. The Republicans guaranteed their win by two consecutive goals scored by Karishma Mahto (35’), and Shorensangbam Tanu (37’).
