Netherlands:

The second round of the Silver Cup Ladies produced some surprises Friday night. Five fourth division teams qualified for the third round of the tournament at the expense of third division teams: Waddinxveen, Harlingen, Flevoland, Strawberries and Pelikaan.

Pelikaan won 1-0 at home against Voorne, while Strawberries convincingly beat Buitenhout 4-1. Flevoland had enough with a minimal difference against Meppel (1-0) and Waddinxveen was 4-2 too strong for Hilversum. Harlingen also surprised by beating Dash. It became 1-0.

The two mutual duels between fourth division players yielded wins for HVA and Steenwijk. HVA defeated Graspiepers 4-2, while Steenwijk beat Quick Stick (1-1) after shoot-outs.

Three other games were also decided after shoot-outs. Gemert won from Vlijmen (1-1), HDS kept its nerves in check better than Souburgh (0-0) and Scoop Delft proved the strongest against Prinsenbeek after 1-1 in regular playtime.

Spectacle

Most goals were scored in the spectacular game between Woerden and the Crows: eleven. The visitors left the field with a 7-4 victory.

Special was the situation at Concordia. The ladies were already in the third round because their opponent had withdrawn.
