On the eighteenth matchday, Kampong’s men posted an important win in the battle for participation in the playoffs. The number four on the ranking won 3-1 on Saturday at their own Klapperboom against Den Bosch, which still has to wait a while to make participation in those playoffs final. With three goals Joep Troost shot Pinoké past HDM (2-3).
Kampong – Den Bosch 3-1
Den Bosch suffered its second loss of the season. Visiting national champion Kampong in Utrecht, the fresh cup winner went down 3-1. In the second quarter Timo Boers gave the visitors the lead with a penalty corner – his 21st goal of the season. After halftime Jonas de Geus put things in order on behalf of Kampong, after which Jip Janssen made the final score with two hit penalty corners. Thanks to those goals Janssen has scored 23 goals this season, bringing his total in the Tulip big league to 149. Kampong is now four league games unbeaten in a row, while for Den Bosch a streak of six games without defeat came to an end.

HDM – Pinoké 2-3
For the second week in a row Joep Troost was responsible for Pinoké’s complete production. With three hat tricks in the last four rounds of play and a total of 12 goals after the winter break, Troost is the man in form. HDM led 2-1 after two quarters thanks to two goals by Mats Dicke. In between, Troost had put the 1-1 on the board with a hit penalty ball. After the break Troost gave Pinoké its fourth victory in a row. HDM suffered its fourth consecutive defeat and is already ten league games without a win.
