Netherlands:

National coaches Jesse Mahieu (Junior Men) and Kai de Jager (Junior Women) have announced their 25-member training groups for the U21 World Cup. The men will play their global tournament in India (from Nov. 28 to Dec. 10), the women will go to Chile again (Dec. 1 to 13).

It is the first time that not 16, but 24 countries are participating in the World Under 21 Championship. Due to the larger field of participants, smaller field hockey nations are also participating this year. Kai de Jager’s team is defending their 2023 title in South America. They are in the pool with Japan, Chile and Malaysia. The Dutch Junior men (who finished fifth at the previous World Cup) also play Malaysia and will further take on England and Austria.

With twelve players, Kampong is by far the main supplier of the selections. In the women’s team, the Utrecht-based club will supply no fewer than eight names. Kampong is also well represented in the men’s team with four players. Amsterdam follows with a total of nine internationals (five for the women and four for the men). Pinoké stands at seven players with three ladies and four men.
