Jip Dicke (SCHC) and Floris Middendorp (Amsterdam) have been voted the best players of the Tulip Hoofdklasse season 2024-2025. Both tastemakers have now received their prize, the Golden Stick.
In recent weeks, players, coaches and field hockey fans could cast their votes for the best player of the season through the online channels of the Tulip Hoofdklasse. In doing so, the names of Dicke and Middendorp were chosen most often.
Dicke experienced an excellent debut season in the forwards of SCHC. The striker, who came over from HDM and is the younger sister of SCHC attacker Pien Dicke, scored fifteen goals during the regular season, a number surpassed at SCHC only by penalty-corner canon Yibbi Jansen. Dicke was unlucky to suffer a hamstring injury in the closing stages of the competition, which threatened to end her season. However, the striker recovered quickly and made it to the final of the playoffs against Den Bosch, a duel that SCHC lost after shoot-outs.
Personal record Middendorp
Middendorp was the trendsetter for Amsterdam last season, which captured the national title for the first time since 2012. The technically gifted midfielder was the driving force in the offensive play of coach Rick Mathijssen’s team. He scored six goals himself – a new personal record – and also prepared six goals for teammates.
Dicke and Middendorp are the successors to Xan de Waard (SCHC) and Sander de Wijn (Kampong), who won the individual award last season.
