Netherlands: National O16: Rotterdam MO16 too strong in top match against Oranje-Rood

Leader Rotterdam MO16 in Group C won the top match against Orange-Red 5-2 on Saturday. At the JO18, Schaerweijde suffered the first loss of points of the season. The team from Zeist lost 2-1 to Amsterdam.

The National Competition 016 consists of four groups of six teams each that play ten matches. The numbers one and two of each of the four groups qualify for the quarterfinals of the Dutch Championship.

Girls

In Group A, Little Switzerland kept its 100% score. With a 4-3 victory over Union, the team from The Hague recorded its seventh victory in seven league matches. Number two Hurley went down 2-1 against number three Kampong. In Group B, HDM was 3-1 too strong for Den Bosch. Pursuer Gooische dropped points after the 0-0 draw against Rood-Wit. Push recorded a 5-0 victory over Leonidas and moved up to second place, three points behind HDM. In Group C, SCHC followed in the footsteps of leader Rotterdam after the 4-0 victory over Schaerweijde. And in Group D, leader Laren remained undefeated. The Gooise team won 2-1 against Cartouche. Pinoké lost 1–0 to Victoria and dropped from second to fourth. Zwolle is the new number two after the 1-0 victory over Bloemendaal.

Boys

In Group A, Gooische crept closer to leader Schaerweijde after the 1-0 win over Cartouche. The difference is only two points. In Group B, Rood-Wit remained undefeated, in contrast to Victoria, which suffered its first loss. The team from Rotterdam lost 2-1 to Alliance. With an 11-0 win over Breda, HDM narrowed the gap in Group C to number two Union and leader Klein Switzerland. These two teams got no further than a draw against Naarden (2-2) and Den Bosch (1-1) respectively. It was already the sixth division of points in seven games for Naarden. In Group D, the Orange-Red increased its lead over pursuers Push and Kampong. The Oranje-Rood defeated Hurley 5-2 and Push and Kampong shared the points with Rotterdam (2-2) and Nijmegen (5-5) respectively.
